Ringsheim lies to the south of the Ortenau district, and lies in the Alpine foothills, surrounded by cornfields, tobacco fields and fertile vineyards. The village lies at the foot of the Kahlenberg mountain, and there are many walking paths leading up the mountain. There is also a barbecue area, children’s playground and animal reserve. You can enjoy a wide view into the horizon towards the River Rhine lowlands or the Vosges mountains in France. Ringsheim boasts a Baroque church from 1785 and Johanneskapelle (St. John’s Chapel) dating back to the 17th century. There are also many fine bars and restaurants locally.
